Blackberry Mint Julep

Blackberry Mint Julep

Happy 4th of July!

Recipe | Serving Size: 2

Here is the recipe. If you are just making it for one, make sure to split the recipe in half. If not, treat yoself!

  • Mint Leaves - 1/8 cup

  • Blackberries - 1/4 cup

  • Simple Syrup - 3 oz

  • Bourbon - 6 oz

  • Crushed Ice

Fill a DOF glass halfway with crushed ice. (I ran out so I had to use a giant ice cube.)

In a cocktail shaker or a mason jar, combine the rest of the ingredients and muddle. Add some more ice and shake vigorously. Strain the drink into the glass through a coarse sieve, pressing on the solids.

Firmly slap the mint sprigs on the back of your hand before garnishing; this releases the oils to make the mint more aromatic. Garnish with the mint sprigs and more blackberries. Enjoy!

I expect a lot of people to ask about the glassware. Here is the DOF glass and here is the matching mixing glass which I used in my sangria video.
